  1. Product Description

    A new generation, water based, 100% acrylic, quality interior / exterior, matt coating. Meets the rigorous requirements of SABS 1586-3, Grade 3.
  2. Application Areas

    Interior and exterior use.
    High traffic areas that need a highly washable and durable coating in a wide range of colours.
    Plaster, hardboard and fibre cement walls.
    Ceilings, like soft board, gypsum and other fibre boards, as well as on cast concrete or plastered ceilings.
    Can be applied on new plaster, which still has high humidity content and is still very alkaline.
    Due to the acrylic resin base and permeability for water vapour, NEO Aurora is a fool proof interior and exterior coating for newly erected buildings, especially for housing schemes or town houses.
    Highly suitable in coastal areas.
  3. Product Features

    Economically priced emulsion paint based on an acrylic resin emulsion.
    Cleanable, comfortably meets the requirements of the very harsh SABS and ASTMS scrubs resistant test methods.
    Excellent adhesion to properly prepared substrates.
    Good opacity / hiding power.
    Low odour.
    Two coats of NEO Aurora are applied for best results.
    Combines good durability with a high degree of hiding power. Due to its high pigment content it fills up small cracks, holes and plaster blemishes.
    NEO Aurora dries to a completely even matt finish.

    Spreading Rate 6 10 square metres per litre.
    Although the spreading rate will vary with porosity and type of substrate, for uncoated new surfaces work on 6-8 square metres per litre for the first coat and 8-10 square metres per litre for subsequent coats and when applied to sealed, previously painted substrates.

  5. Application Details

    Mixing Always stir well before use with a flat paddle.
    Application Method Brush, roller or airless spray.
    Thinning NEO Aurora is ready for use un-thinned; thinning with water will reduce its hiding power.
    Cleaning Water.
    Application Stir well before use.
    Two coats of NEO Aurora are applied for best results.
    With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Aurora.
    Allow to dry 3-4 hours before recoating.
    Apply a second generous coat of NEO Aurora.
    Do not apply before 09:00 and after 16:00 in the winter.
    Do not apply exterior if it looks like rain will occur within 4-6 hours of application.
    NEO Aurora is ready for use un-thinned; thinning with water will reduce its hiding power.
    Although the spreading rate will vary with porosity and type of substrate, for uncoated new surfaces work on 6-8 square metres per litre for the first coat and 8-10 square metres per litre for subsequent coats and when applied to sealed, previously painted substrates.
    Clean up application equipment with clean tap water.
  6. Surface Preparation

    Uncoated Concrete Surfaces
    Raw / New Plaster
    Precast
    Make sure surface is dry and firm.
    Remove all dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    Prime with NEO Acrylic Wall Primer (ap00).
    Fill and seal all visible cracks with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Sand well and remove dust.
    With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Aurora.
    Allow to dry 3-4 hours before recoating.
    Apply a second generous coat of NEO Aurora.
    Uncoated, Weathered or New Fibre Cement Surfaces Remove dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    If friable or powdery, seal with NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00).
    With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Aurora.
    Allow to dry 3-4 hours before recoating.
    Apply a second generous coat of NEO Aurora.
    Soft Board or Gypsum Board Ceilings
    Hard Board
    Cornices
    Make sure substrate is clean and free from dust.
    Prime nail heads with a coat of NEO Universal Undercoat (wu00) (this will prevent corrosion of nail heads).
    Repair dents at nail heads with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00).
    Fill up any holes and unevenness with NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) and NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Sand well and remove dust.
    Prime with NEO Acrylic Wall Primer (ap00).
    With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Aurora.
    Allow to dry 3-4 hours before recoating.
    Apply a second generous coat of NEO Aurora.


          * The application of a primer is not required on ceiling boards.

    Previously Painted Surfaces Surface must be in a sound condition.
    Existing gloss finishes should be well sanded.
    Remove all loose, flaking and bubbling paint.
    Remove all dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    Allow to dry.
    Fill and seal all visible cracks with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Prime the bare and visible plaster areas with NEO Acrylic Wall Primer (ap00).
    With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Aurora.
    Allow to dry 3-4 hours before recoating.
    Apply a second generous coat of NEO Aurora.
  7. Colour Range and Quantities

    NEO Aurora is available in a range of popular ready mixed colours and for special pastel colours in minimum batch sizes.
    Available in a variety of pastel shades but not in deep or bright shades.
    Available in 5 litres and 20 litres.
  8. Precautions

    NEO Aurora is not flammable.
    It contains no toxic substances and very low levels of VOC (EU regulations).
