  1. Product Description

    Economically priced new generation water based, matt coating for walls and ceilings.
  2. Application Areas

    Interior and exterior use.
    Plaster, hardboard, fibre cement walls and ceilings.
    Housing projects, outside walls, garden walls, garages, sheds, storerooms, etc.
  3. Product Features

    Good opacity / hiding power.
    Low odour.
    Two coats of NEO Contractor PVA are applied for best results.
    Highly alkaline resistant acrylic resin emulsion.

    Spreading Rate 6-10 square metres per litre.
    Although the spreading rate will vary with porosity and type of substrate, for uncoated new surfaces work on 6-8 square metres per litre for the first coat and 8-10 square metres per litre for subsequent coats and when applied to sealed, previously painted substrates.

  5. Application Details

    Mixing Always stir well before use with a flat paddle.
    Application Method Brush, roller or airless spray.
    Thinning NEO Contractor PVA is ready for use un-thinned; thinning with water will reduce its hiding power.
    Cleaning Water.
    Application Stir well before use.
    Requires no prime coat and can be applied directly on to the substrate.
    Can be applied on fresh plaster when still humid since the humidity can escape due to the high porosity of the paint coating.
    Fills small holes and cracks due to its high solid matter content and resulting thick coating.
    NEO Contractor PVA is ready for use un-thinned; thinning with water will reduce its hiding power.
    Two coats of NEO Contractor PVA are used for best results.
    Allow to dry 2-3 hours before recoating.
    Clean up application equipment with clean tap water.
    Can not be washed or cleaned with household cleaners or soap.
    Do not apply before 09:00 and after 16:00 in the winter.
    Do not apply exterior if it looks like rain will occur within 4-6 hours of application.
    Under no circumstances should NEO Contractor PVA be used as a replacement for NEO Acrylic Wall Primer (ap00) or NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) under any paint type.
    Should not be used as a primer for high quality emulsion paints such as NEO Dur (ep00) or NEO Teflacryl (tc00).

  6. Surface Preparation

    New / Raw Plaster
    Uncoated Concrete Surfaces
    Make sure surface is firm and reasonably dry.
    Remove all dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    Repair any cracks, holes and other blemishes with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Apply two coats of NEO Contractor PVA.
    Allow to dry 2-3 hours before recoating.
    Uncoated, Weathered or New Fibre Cement Surfaces Remove all dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    If powdery or friable, seal with NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00).
    Apply two coats of NEO Contractor PVA.
    Allow to dry 2-3 hours before recoating.
    Softboard Ceilings
    Hard Board
    Prime nail heads with NEO Universal White Undercoat (wu00) (this will prevent corrosion of nail heads).
    Repair any cracks and holes with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Apply two coats of NEO Contractor PVA.
    Allow to dry 2-3 hours before recoating.
    For light coloured or pre-primed soft board ceilings, a two-coat application is usually sufficient, otherwise specify a third coat.
    Previously Painted Surfaces Do not apply NEO Contractor PVA on glossy or semi gloss enamel paint coatings even if they are sanded and prepared.
    On existing PVA paint coatings, make sure old paint coating is firm and solid.
    Remove all loose, flaking and bubbling paint.
    Remove all dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    Repair any cracks and holes with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    Allow to dry.
    Apply two coats of NEO Contractor PVA.
    Allow to dry 2-3 hours before recoating.
  7. Colour Range and Quantities

    NEO Contractor PVA is available in a limited range of popular, ready mixed colours and for special pastel colours.
    Available in 5 and 20 litres.
  8. Precautions

    NEO Contractor PVA is not flammable.
    The product contains no toxic substances.
