  1. Product Description

    A new generation silicone resin based, long-life, interior / exterior, high shine aluminium & black heat resistant coating for a wide range of substrates/objects that need a highly durable and heat resistant but cost effective finish.
    Heat resistance: 200 degrees Celsius for long periods; 250 degrees Celsius for short periods.
  2. Application Areas

    • Interior and exterior use.
    • Primed metal and other substrates.
    • The coating can be used on boilers, steam pipes, metal chimneys and other objects with a hot surface.
  3. Product Features

    • Highly durable and UV resistant for the harsh Namibian climate.
    • Excellent adhesion to range of properly prepared substrates.
    • Very heat resistant for long term exposure to temperatures of up to 200 degrees Celsius (250 degrees Celsius for short periods).
    • NEO Heat Resistant should not be used on exhaust pipes or other extremely hot objects.
    • Two coats of NEO Heat Resistant are used for best results.

    Spreading Rate 8-12 square metres per litre.
    Although the spreading rate will vary with porosity and type of substrate, for uncoated new surfaces work on 8-10 square metres per litre for the first coat and 10-12 square metres per litre for subsequent coats and when applied to sealed, previously painted substrates.

  5. Application Details

    • Mixing Always stir well before use with a flat paddle.
    • Application Method Brush, roller or airless spray.
    • Thinning NEO Heat Resistant is ready for use un-thinned; thinning with NEO M-Thinner (mt01)  will reduce its hiding power. 
    Only for spray application, thin 20% with NEO M-Thinner (mt01).
    • Cleaning NEO M-Thinner (mt01).
    • Application • Stir well before use.
    • NEO Heat Resistant is ready for use un-thinned; thinning will reduce its hiding power.
    • Two coats of NEO Heat Resistant are used for best results.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Heat Resistant. Only for spray application, thin 20% with NEO M-Thinner (mt01).
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a second generous coat.
    • Although the spreading rate will vary with porosity and type of substrate, for uncoated new surfaces work on 8-10 square metres per litre for the first coat and 10-12 square metres per litre for subsequent coats and when applied to sealed, previously painted substrates.
    • Only apply in well ventilated areas and keep away from all ignition sources, flames and sparks.
    • Clean up application equipment with NEO M-Thinner (mt01).
    • Do not eat, drink or smoke while applying.
    • Do not apply before 09:00 and after 16:00 in the winter.
    • Do not apply exterior if it looks like rain will occur within 4-6 hours of application.
  6. Surface Preparation

    • Mild Steel (Renovation) • Affected areas need to be cleaned back to bright metal and spot primed with NEO Corrotec (ct00).
    • DO NOT USE ANY OTHER TYPE OF PRIMER, ONLY NEO CORROTEC (ct00) IS HEAT RESISTANT AND SHOULD BE USED.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Heat Resistant. Only for spray application, thin 20% with NEO M- Thinner (mt01).
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a second generous coat.
    • Mild Steel (New) • Degrease surfaces with NEO Metal Conditioner (mc00) to remove the manufacturer’s grease protective layer. This process is repeated until the surface is water break free.
    • After drying the whole substrate is coated with NEO Corrotec (ct00).
    • DO NOT USE ANY OTHER TYPE OF PRIMER, ONLY NEO CORROTEC (ct00) IS HEAT RESISTANT AND SHOULD BE USED.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Heat Resistant. Only for spray application, thin 20% with NEO M- Thinner (mt01).
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a second generous coat.
    • Previously Painted Surfaces • Remove all of the previous coatings with NEO Paint Remover (pr00).
    • Wash off and allow to dry.
    • Prime metal with NEO Corrotec (ct00).
    • DO NOT USE ANY OTHER TYPE OF PRIMER, ONLY NEO CORROTEC (ct00) IS HEAT RESISTANT AND SHOULD BE USED.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Heat Resistant. Only for spray application, thin 20% with NEO M- Thinner (mt01).
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a second generous coat.
  7. Colour Range and Quantities

    • NEO Heat Resistant is available in shiny Aluminium and Black only.
    • Available in 500ml, 1 litre and 5 litres.
  8. Precautions

    • NEO Heat Resistant is highly flammable and has a flashpoint of 37 degrees Celsius.
    • Only apply in well ventilated areas.
    • Do not eat, drink or smoke while applying.
    • This product should not be used to coat extremely hot substrates such as car exhausts etc. as the product will break down.
