  1. Product Description

    NEO Bonding Liquid is an unique, water based, penetrating, bonding and stabilising liquid/sealer for interior and exterior use on powdery, friable and very porous new and weathered substrates such as lime wash, old paint, new friable or porous plaster and fillers. Once the NEO Bonding Liquid has done its job these areas can be over-coated with a range of NEO Paints’ water and solvent based decorative products.
    NB: This product was previously known as NEO Isoliergrund.
  2. Application Areas

    • Interior and exterior use.
    • New or weathered plaster and fibre cement walls.
    • Powdery, friable, weathered, previously painted areas.
    • Lime wash.
  3. Product Features

    • Unique water based product. The bonding liquid penetrates deep into the substrate and stabilizes it.
    • NEO Bonding Liquid is based on a resin emulsion and can therefore be diluted with water, which makes it a very cost effective product.
    • NEO Bonding Liquid has a good alkaline resistance and can be used on objects where aggressive minerals are present.
    • Once sealed can be top coated with a wide range of NEO Paints’ water and solvent based products.
    • This product can be used as additional stabilizing agent for walls treated with NEO Salt Stop (ss10).
    • Excellent penetrating and binding properties.
    • Excellent adhesion.
  4. Product Data

  5. Application Details

    • Mixing Stir well before use. Thin with 10-25% clean water.
    • Application Method Apply with a paintbrush or roller.
    • Thinning Water.
    • Cleaning Water.
    • Application • Stir well before use.
    • NEO Bonding Liquid has an excellent penetration ability which allows it to permeate deep into the substrate and strengthen it. 
    • Apply NEO Bonding Liquid, thinned with 10-25% clean water depending on how porous the substrate is (more porous, more water), with brush or roller.
    • When dry (2-3 hours), repeat the procedure if required.
    • Allow to dry before over-coating with the required NEO Paints’ primer or topcoat.
    • Apply with a paintbrush or roller.
    • Clean up application equipment with clean tap water.
    • Do not apply before 9:00 and after 16:00 in the winter.
    • Do not apply exterior if it looks like rain will occur within 4-6 hours of application.
  6. Surface Preparation

    • Uncoated dry porous concrete surfaces
    • Raw Plaster
    • Precast
    • Uncoated, Weathered or New Fibre Cement Surfaces
    • Remove dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    • Fill and seal all visible cracks with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Sand well and remove dust.
    • Previously Painted Surfaces
    • Precast
    • Remove all loose, flaking and bubbling paint.
    • Remove all dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    • Lime wash coated walls: remove lime wash as far as possible with scraper blades and / or soft wire or hard fibre brushes but be careful not to damage the plaster.
    • Allow to dry.
    • Fill and seal all visible cracks with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Sand well and remove dust.
  7. Colour Range and Quantities

    • Clear/semi translucent.
    • Available in 1 litre and 5 litres.
  8. Precautions

    • NEO Bonding Liquid contains no toxic substances and low levels of VOC (EU regulations).
