  1. Product Description

    New generation water based 100% acrylic (pure acrylic), high quality interior / exterior, matt coating. Meets the rigorous requirements of SABS 1586-2, Grade 2.
  2. Application Areas

    • Interior and exterior use.
    • High traffic areas that need a highly washable and durable coating in a wide range of colours.
    • Primed plaster, hardboard, ceilings, fiber cement, galvanized gutters and down pipes, PVC pipes and fiber board panels.
    • Primed metal and wooden substrates.
  3. Product Features

    • Durable and UV resistant.
    • Washable, comfortably meets the requirements of the very harsh SABS and ASTMS scrubs resistant test methods.
    • Excellent adhesion to properly prepared substrates.
    • High opacity/hiding power.
    • Low odour.
    • Two coats of NEO Multi Dur are applied for best results.
    • If correctly applied to a properly prepared substrate the product has a life expectancy of 5 to 7 years, possibly longer.

    Spreading Rate 8-12 square metres per litre.
    Although the spreading rate will vary with porosity and type of substrate, for uncoated new surfaces work on 8-10 square metres per litre for the first coat and 10-12 square metres per litre for subsequent coats and when applied to sealed, previously painted substrates.

  5. Application Details

    • Mixing Always stir well before use with a flat paddle.
    • Application Method Brush, roller or airless spray.
    • Thinning NEO Multi Dur is ready for use un-thinned; thinning with water will reduce its hiding power.
    • Cleaning Water.
    • Application • Stir well before use.
    • Two coats of NEO Multi Dur are applied for best results.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Allow to dry 2-3 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • NEO Multi Dur is ready for use un-thinned; thinning with water will reduce its hiding power.
    • Although the spreading rate will vary with porosity and type of substrate, for uncoated new surfaces work on 8-10 square metres per litre for the first coat and 10-12 square metres per litre for subsequent coats and when applied to sealed, previously painted substrates.
    • Clean up application equipment with clean tap water.
    • Do not apply before 09:00 and after 16:00 in the winter.
    • Do not apply exterior if it looks like rain will occur within 4-6 hours of application.
  6. Surface Preparation

    • Mild Steel (Renovation) • Affected areas need to be cleaned back to bright metal and spot primed with NEO Corroguard (cg00).
    • Sand existing coating.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Allow to dry 2-3 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Mild Steel (New) • Degrease surfaces with NEO Metal Conditioner (mc00) to remove the manufacturer’s grease protective layer. This process is repeated until the surface is water break free.
    • After drying, the whole substrate is coated with NEO Corroguard (cg00).
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Allow to dry 2-3 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Uncoated Surfaces:
    • Concrete
    • Raw / New Plaster
    • Bricks
    • Precast
    • Make sure surface is dry and firm.
    • Remove all dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    • Prime with NEO Acrylic Wall Primer (ap00).
    • Fill and seal all visible cracks with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Sand well and remove dust.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Allow to dry 2-3 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Uncoated, Weathered or New Fibre Cement Surfaces • Remove dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    • If friable or powdery, seal with NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00).
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Allow to dry 2-3 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Wall Partitioning, Softboard, Gypsum Board, Fibre Board, Cornices
    (New & Renovation)
    • Remove any loose particles and dust from substrate.
    • Prime nail heads with a coat of NEO Universal Undercoat (wu00) (this will prevent corrosion of nail heads).
    • Prime surface with one coat of NEO Acrylic Wall Primer (ap00).
    • Fill and seal all visible cracks with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Sand well and remove dust.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Previously Painted Surfaces
    • Concrete
    • Precast
    • Surface must be in a sound condition.
    • Existing gloss finishes should be well sanded.
    • Remove all loose, flaking and bubbling paint.
    • Remove all dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    • Allow to dry.
    • Fill and seal all visible cracks with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Prime the bare and visible plaster areas with NEO Acrylic Wall Primer (ap00).
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.
    • Allow to dry 2-3 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Multi Dur.

  8. Colour Range and Quantities

    • NEO Multi Dur is available in a range of popular ready mixed colours and on the NEO ColourWorks tinting system.
    • Available in 5 litres and 20 litres.

    • NEO Multi Dur is not flammable.
    • Contains no toxic substances and very low levels of VOC (EU regulations).
