  1. Product Description

    A new generation, water based, 100% acrylic, quality interior / exterior, semi gloss , sheen coating.
  2. Application Areas

    • Interior and exterior use.
    • High traffic areas that need a highly washable and durable coating in a wide range of colours.
    • Plaster, concrete, hardboard and fibre cement walls, fibre board, and primed metal, wooden substrates.
    • Due to the high degree of dirt repellence, NEO Teflacryl is the ideal coating for public buildings, schools, hotels and other highly frequented buildings.
    • New plaster (very alkaline) can be coated with NEO Teflacryl successfully.
    • Can be applied directly on to most substrates and existing paint coatings.
    • For the application on steel, it is essential to apply a suitable primer.
    • NEO Teflacryl can be applied on degreased, galvanised metal.
    • NEO Teflacryl can not be applied on un-primed steel.
  3. Product Features

    • Smooth, velvet touch and a silky finish, which makes it a viable option to solvent based eggshell enamel finishes.
    • Excellent exterior durability both in coastal and inland conditions - highly humidity and water-resistant.
    • Two coats of NEO Teflacryl are applied for best results.
    • If correctly applied to a properly prepared substrate, the product has a life expectancy of 7-10 years, possibly longer.

    Film Thickness 35-40 microns
    Spreading Rate 8-12 square metres per litre.
    Although the spreading rate will vary with porosity and type of substrate, for uncoated new surfaces work on 
    8-10 square metres per litre for the first coat and 10-12 square metres per litre for subsequent coats and when applied to sealed, previously painted substrates.

  5. Application Details

    • Mixing Always stir well before use with a flat paddle.
    • Application Method Brush, roller or airless spray.
    • Thinning NEO Teflacryl is ready for use un-thinned; thinning with water will reduce its hiding power.
    • Cleaning Water.
    • Application • Stir well before use.
    • Two coats of NEO Teflacryl are applied for best results.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Do not apply before 09:00 and after 16:00 in the winter.
    • Do not apply exterior if it looks like rain will occur within 4-6 hours of application.
    • NEO Teflacryl is ready for use un-thinned; thinning with water will reduce its hiding power.
    • Although the spreading rate will vary with porosity and type of substrate, for uncoated new surfaces work on 8-10 square metres per litre for the first coat and 10-12 square metres per litre for subsequent coats and when applied to sealed, previously painted substrates.
    • Clean up application equipment with clean tap water.
  6. Surface Preparation

    • Mild Steel (Renovation) • Affected areas need to be cleaned back to bright metal and spot primed with NEO Corroguard (cg00).
    • Sand existing coating.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Mild Steel (New) • Degrease surfaces with NEO Metal Conditioner (mc00) to remove the manufacturer’s grease protective layer. This process is repeated until the surface is water break free.
    • After drying, the whole substrate is coated with NEO Corroguard (cg00).
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Uncoated Concrete Surfaces
    • Raw / New Plaster
    • Precast
    • Make sure surface is dry and firm.
    • Remove all dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    • Prime with NEO Acrylic Wall Primer (ap00).
    • Fill and seal all visible cracks with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Sand well and remove dust.
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Uncoated, Weathered or New Fibre Cement Surfaces • Remove dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    • If friable or powdery, seal with NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00).
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Wood and Fibre Board (New & Renovation)
    • Hard Board
    • Prime surfaces with one coat of NEO Pink Primer (pi00).
    • Repair any blemishes with NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Previously Painted Surfaces
    • Concrete
    • Precast
    • Surface must be in a sound condition.
    • Existing gloss finishes should be well sanded.
    • Remove all loose, flaking and bubbling paint.
    • Remove all dust, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
    • Allow to dry.
    • Fill and seal all visible cracks with NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Apply one coat of NEO Bonding Liquid (ig00) to cover NEO Aurora Filler (ef00) or NEO Repair Paste (nrp07).
    • Prime the bare and visible plaster areas with NEO Acrylic Wall Primer (ap00).
    • With brush, roller or airless spray, apply a generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
    • Allow to dry 4-6 hours before recoating.
    • Apply a second generous coat of NEO Teflacryl.
  7. Colour Range and Quantities

    • NEO Teflacryl is available in a range of popular, ready mixed colours and on the NEO ColourWorks tinting system.
    • Deep and bright shades can be manufactured on request.
    • Available in 5 litres and 20 litres.
  8. Precautions

    • NEO Teflacryl is not flammable.
    • Contains no toxic substances and only very small amounts of organic solvents.
    • Low levels of VOC (EU regulations).
